The Department of Physics was established at the Myanmar Mercantile Marine College in 2005. Physics Department offers two diploma courses: Diploma in Nautical Studies and Diploma in Maritime Technology.
Course Aims
This course aim to provide the cadets to be able to apply the basic concepts of physical science that cadets need to learn transferable problem-solving skills. The teaching of physical science which is deemed necessary to obtain the depth of knowledge required for the competences of section A. II/1 and section A-II/2 of the STCW code.
Learning Objectives
To provide the background knowledge and understanding of the physical principles in which the lessons are about General Physics, Heat, Wave, Sound and Light, Magnetism and Electricity and Electronics.
