Department of Computer Science

Background

The Department of Computer Science was established at the Myanmar Mercantile Marine College in 2006. Computer Science Department offers two diploma courses: Diploma in Nautical Studies and Diploma in Maritime Technology.

Course Aim

The subject aims to provide the students with basic knowledge of Computer Science and Applications to serve as a tool in the learning of various nautical and engineering subjects.

Objective

Learning of Computer Science subject provides cadets to enhance an awareness of computer science and updated technology. Today onboard ships, computerization is on the Bridge, in the Engine Room and also in most electronic equipment onboard. As such, the Cadets must brace the understanding of Computers to enable them perform their future duties with competence.
